- Abstract
This article, titled "Editorial: Women in psychiatry: personality disorders 2023," discusses the progress made in understanding personality disorders (PD) and the contributions of women in the field of psychiatric research. The article highlights the shift from a categorical approach to a dimensional one in studying PD, as well as advancements in clinical understanding through longitudinal studies and neuroimaging. The research topic focuses on the alternative dimensional model of PD and its impact on interpersonal functioning. The article also emphasizes the importance of comparing men and women with PD to better inform assessments and treatments.
