- Abstract
The article presents developments related to pregnancy outcome. It is stated that there is a decrease in gestational length among term births of over two million singletons in Italy from 1990-1998. According to a population-based study in Australia, there is an increase in the rate of preterm delivery particularly the rate of spontaneous onset of labor. In a randomized placebo controlled trial in Iran, it was found that women were more likely to develop hypertension and to have small infants.
