- Abstract
The article focuses on the political career of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. In the 4th Summit of the Americas in Mar del Plata, Argentina, Chávez announced his attempt to disrupt job creation plans proposed by the U.S. government under the Free Trade Area of the Americas pact. The personal background of Chávez is presented. Chávez believes in a participatory form of democracy where there should only be one authoritative leader. He has vowed on eliminating poverty in Venezuela.
