- Abstract
Reusing domestic effluent treated in the soil-plant system can minimize impacts on surface water or groundwater and supplement fertilization for agriculture. In this sense, the objective of the present work was to evaluate the effects of the application of increasing doses of domestic effluent on the chemical attributes (pH and content of sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and phosphorus) of a Red Dystrophic Nitosol and the dry-matter yield of plants of the hybrid Biomatrix 3063 PRO 2 maize. The experiment was conducted in an greenhouse using Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with 0.25 m in diameter and 1 m in height, pipes filled with soil. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design, in a subdivided plot scheme, with the following factors: five doses of domestic effluent (0, 150, 300, 450 and 600 m3 ha-1) and five depths (0-0.05, 0.05-0.10, 0.10-0.20, 0.20-0.40, 0.40-0.60 m), with four replicates. Early cycle hybrid corn sowing was carried out on 03/10/2014. The doses of treated domestic effluent were applied 15 days after emergence of the plants. The application of the domestic effluent did not influence the soil chemical parameters such as pH, phosphorus and potassium, however, the sodium content increased. Increasing doses of the domestic effluent did not interfere in the production of the aerial part of maize dry-matter.
