- Title
The Double Standard in Housing Subsidies: Why Should Criminals Be Allowed to Take the Mortgage Interest Deduction?
- Authors
Ammann, John J.; Hagner, Jennifer
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the double standard in the U.S. housing subsidies. They note that the economic benefit of the housing mortgage interest deduction is available to criminals and noncriminals alike. The authors argue why should criminals be allowed to take the mortgage interest deduction. They suggest provocative ways to analyze this difference in national policy.
