- Abstract
This article discusses the safety and effectiveness of growth hormone (GH) therapy for children who were born small for gestational age (SGA). The study analyzed data from the French National SGA Registry and found that GH therapy was generally safe, with few serious adverse events reported. In terms of effectiveness, GH therapy resulted in short-term growth improvement, but the effect on adult height was modest. The study also highlighted the importance of patient selection and adherence to treatment. Overall, the findings support the use of GH therapy for SGA children, but further research is needed to assess long-term safety and optimize treatment outcomes.
