- Abstract
This article approaches the controversial subject of stoning from a scientific and analytical perspective. It explores the history of stoning in various cultures and religious contexts, as well as its impact on human rights in the modern world. Historically used as a punishment for various crimes, the practice is strongly criticized in the modern world for its blatant violation of human rights, in particular the right to life and the right not to be subjected to torture, cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment. Stoning is linked to religious contexts, but its application and interpretation varies between countries and historical contexts. In many countries, it is illegal, but persists in some regions despite laws against the practice. International organisations and human rights activists are working for its abolition and for the promotion of fundamental human rights and the implementation of reforms. The article highlights the importance of awareness and collective action to combat this inhumane practice and promote respect for human rights globally.
