- Abstract
A correct diagnosis is very important both for the medical profession and for the patient's health. In this regard, during the diagnostic process, the doctor demands a series of examinations from the patient in order to find out the cause of the complaints that the patient has. Situations such as the inability to provide a complete medical history and unnecessary examinations mean both a loss of time and an economic loss. Communication problems between patient and physician can lead to problems in diagnosis. With this in mind, the aim of the study is to identify and prioritize the difficulties physicians face in diagnosing patients. To this end, the study establishes eight main criteria by systematic compilation and prioritized these criteria using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, which is one of the multi-criteria decision-making methods. In this context, the AHP questionnaire is created and applied to a total of 20 physicians, five of whom are part of the experimental group, five of whom worked in Gaziantep and 10 of whom work in Istanbul. The results of the survey show that there are differences in the priority order of physicians working in Gaziantep and Istanbul.
