SOME IUD SIDE EFFECTS DECREASE OVER TIME.
- Authors
Rosenberg, Jared
- Abstract
The article reports on research on the side effects of copper intrauterine devices (IUD) among women in Chile. Researchers analyzed data from a secondary analysis of 1,947 first time copper IUD users in Santiago, Chile. They found that certain side effects of IUD use, such as pain or abnormal menstrual bleeding, decrease over time. Researchers suggested that their research results could help potential IUD users and current users anticipate the overall prevalence of problems and side effects related to the devices.
