- Abstract
The article discusses the relevance of endogenous scientific and technological research in addressing the envenoming of snakebites which constitutes a serious public health problem in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Snakebite was cited to be a neglected tropical disease affecting poor people in poor settings. Technological development and innovation-related programs were noted to be necessary for the improvement of antivenom quality.
