- Title
Benjamin Franklin and Colonial Money: A Reply to Michener and Wright--Yet Again.
- Authors
GRUBB, FARLEY
- Abstract
The author provides a reply to criticisms of economist Ronald W. Michener and historian Robert E. Wright on the subject of the nature of colonial money in the U.S. The author cites the views of statesman and inventor Benjamin Franklin that paper money was predominantly used as inside money in a colony. The author also stresses that Franklin's views refute the views of Michener and Wright that specie dominated the colonial money supply.
