- Authors
Vichitbandha, P.; Chandrapatya, A.
- Abstract
The article presents a study on the effects of broad mites on the damage and yields of chili shoots. The researchers transplanted Tavi 64 hot chili seedlings at the experimental farm of Kasetsart University in Nakhon Pathom province in Thailand in early September 2005. They also selected chili plants randomly every two weeks to be observed for arthropod populations using the methods of shoot shaking and collecting fresh young shoots. They found that only few plants had shoot damage more than 50 percent, which might have led to the reduction of total yield and fruit production.
