- Abstract
The article provides information about the quality indicators that are particular to colonoscopy. The preprocedural period includes the time from first contact by the patient until administration of sedation. Intraprocedural quality evaluation of the colon encompass intubation of the entire colon and a detailed mucosal inspection. Postprocedural care involves photo documentation of abnormalities and identification of any biopsy specimens obtained.
