An interview with Jamaican American scholar, civil rights activist, writer and University of Massachusetts-Amherst administrator professor Ekwueme Michael Thelwell is presented. Topics discussed include Thelwell's experiences as a student activist at Howard University, his leadership role with the the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP), Nonviolent Action Group (NAG) and the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), and his relationships with several activists.
