- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of denial of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the Corn Refiners Association (CRA) petition in which it requested the term "corn sugar" to be approved as alternative name for high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). It mentions that advertising campaign of CRA named Sweet Surprise harmed the consumers and the sugar industry of the U.S. suffered also as the consumers purchase products with HFCS over the products that contain sugar leading to price erosion.
