- Abstract
The article discusses the proposed disestablishment of paternity in places such as America and the European Union (EU) through the use of mandatory genetic testing of newborn babies at birth or soon thereafter, and it mentions U.S. paternity laws, as well as paternity-related litigation in America and the EU. The European Court of Human Rights is mentioned, along with the legal- and privacy-related aspects of DNA testing. The legal rights of biological and non-biological fathers are examined.
