- Abstract
Polysaccharide from Prunella vulagaris Linn was extracted with water at 100 °C. It was fractionated by anion-exchange chromatography and gel filtration chromatography. The results showed that weight average molecular weight of the major portion PLS3 was 8.3 x 10-5 Da by HPGPC. The primary structure of PLS3 was determined from its IR spectrum. The pre-column derivatization HPLC and GC analysis showed that the polysaccharide from P. vulgaris Linn and PLS3 were both composed of galactose, glucose, mannouse, xylose, arabinose and rhamnose without uronic acid. But the moler percentages of monosaccharides are different.
