- Abstract
This article explores the significance of fall risk assessment in older adults and proposes a comprehensive approach called the "toe-to-head" method. The approach involves evaluating four key areas: Mobility, Mentation, Medications, and What Matters. The article offers examples of examination techniques and questions for each component, as well as management strategies to consider. By following this approach, healthcare professionals can effectively screen for fall risk and provide appropriate interventions to minimize the risk of falls in older adults. The authors emphasize the importance of tailoring interventions to individual patient goals and needs.
