- Abstract
The article discusses drawing and mixed media artist Janet Culbertson, who began working in the 1960s. Culbertson identifies as an eco-feminist and her art addresses topics related to environmental and ecological issues and environmental disasters such as oil spills. Topics discussed include Culbertson's childhood and early works responding to environmental issues, her drawings of animals in the Galapagos Islands, her relationships with other eco-feminists and environmental organizations such as the Sierra Club, and her environmental landscape paintings and mixed media pieces.
