- Authors
Chukuezi, Comfort O.
- Abstract
The paper looks at women in Igbo society and their involvement in crime and criminal activities over the years. It argues that more women are now getting involved in criminal activities than before. Poverty as well as change in the traditional roles of childbearing and rearing of women to economic occupations are identified as the main reasons for increase in female crimes. The need to encourage women in the form of education and training programs, employment opportunities to reduce poverty and income disparities that exist in the society is advocated in order to ameliorate female criminality and save our society from moral decadence.
