The article offers information on a proposal to conserve the name Deiregyne with its conserved type. The unique feature of Deiregyne is called ovary neck, that is, the sterile apical part of the ovary greatly elongated, forming a kind of beak on the fruit apex. The authors recognized eight Deiregyne species equally allocated within two sections based on the lip morphology.
