An essay is presented on technological advancement in the Biodiversity Information Synthesis. It identifies six major periods of biodiversity discovery since the origin of binomial nomenclature including the Apostilian Age, the Humboldtian Age and the Boundary Survey Age. It mentions that the Biodiversity Information Synthesis is marked by a long list of achievements that are of academic and political as well as cultural sorts.
