- Abstract
The article reports on the proposal to retain the name Agaricus lepideus over that of Agaricus suffrutescens to curtail confusion in the research community. A. lepideus is considered the best example of a brown rot fungi and recent developments have created confusion because of the discovery that L. suffrutescens is the correct name for L. lepideus. The proposal demands for the retention of A. lepedius to restore stability in the rules of nomenclature.
