The article discusses the approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical trials of human embryonic stem-cell treatment for the spinal-cord injuries. Topics include an overview of the biotechnology company Geron, who will be conducting the study, how it’s affected the company's stock price, and its FDA application which it submitted in March 2008. Also discussed are the reactions by supporters of stem-cell research and Geron's stem-cell line.
