- Abstract
The article discusses the author's perspectives on the loss of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) spacecraft Mars Global Surveyor. He inferred that the spacecraft has contributed immensely to the exploration of the U.S. government in Mars. He believed that it was the first of a series of faster and better NASA missions to outer space. He also averred that it paved the way for the launching of other orbiters like Mars Odyssey in 2002 and Mars Express in 2004.
