- Abstract
Post-traumatic epilepsy can be characterized as one of the variants of the consequences of a head injury with leading epileptic syndrome, which is manifested, respectively, by systematically recurring epileptic seizures, most often of a convulsive nature. Speaking about the features of clinical manifestations and the course of PTE, it should be noted that, first of all, they determine the place of the epileptic syndrome in the structure of the consequences of head injury: it is the only one, the leading one, or just one of the components of a complex complex of neurological disorders - the consequences of a head injury. A significant role in this is played by the severity of concomitant emotional - volitional and intellectually - mnestic disorders. This article presents the results of a study examining the effect of traumatic brain injury in the development of epileptic seizures in patients with concomitant pathologies. The diagnosis of epilepsy was established on the basis of the clinical picture of seizures, electroencephalography, and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain.
