- Title
Truth, Faith, and Transparency in Peer Review--Perspectives on the AFS Peer Review Process.
- Authors
Cooke, Steven J.
- Abstract
The author reflects on a proposal to make revisions to the peer review process implemented by the American Fisheries Society (AFS) in its journals in 2008. He mentions that an editorial by K. Amos, published in the periodical "Fisheries," drew attention to the increased publication of faith-based science through personal anecdotes. He explains the current peer review model used in AFS journals, particularly the selection of editors. He discusses the efforts of AFS to bring more transparency to its journals.
