- Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present the role of pedagogical intervention of the Citizen School Program in the empowerment of black girls and women from school communities in the city of Ibirité, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Eleven black girls participating in the Program were interviewed. Given the low representation of black women in politics, it was found that the Citizen School, in addition to expanding the protagonism of black girls and women, has provided an opportunity to practice parliamentary performance to support a future occupation of spaces of representative power.
