- Abstract
The article discusses the new legislation on biobank research in Finland, which came into effect September 1, 2013, aimed at strengthening the position of sample donors' consent and improve the researchers' prerequisites for utilizing the sample collections. It states that the law allows broad consent for future research and secondary use of samples being stored in a biobank. Brief descriptions of the main aspects of the law is given.
