- Title
Parent Education: A Model for Low-Income Parents.
- Authors
Goodyear, Rodney K.; Rubovits, James J.
- Abstract
Parenting education models typically have been designed for middle-class parents. This article provides a metamodeI with which counselors can design programs for all populations of parents, particularly low-income parents. It suggests that all parent education programs impart information and that they may also provide training for interpersonal skills and family management skills. The article provides a framework for understanding how these components might be sequenced for training a particular parent population; it also describes the development and application of this metamodel.
