- Abstract
After getting married, many associated relationships come into existence in the life of an individual and his spouse. In this way, the person himself and his spouse are not limited to each other only. These newly emerged relationships are respectable and worthy for the spouses. It is a fact that a person cannot be isolated from these relationships because each of these relationships has its own importance. However, some people have solitary behaviors in marital life. This isolation encompasses avoiding relationships with the spouse's relatives and such behaviors often lead to conflicts. In such, each of the spouses complains about the other that his/her behavior with my relative is not good. In such circumstances, the importance of maintaining these relationships that can guarantee family's stability cannot be overshadowed. In the same manner, some of the spouses are more inclined to selfish behaviors that can result in adverse consequences. The fact is that if a person insists only on satisfying his desires and needs, this will cause chaos in the family. In this regard, the Prophet (PBUH) has taught the Ummah to adopt positive attitudes and to discourage any negative behavior that harms the family or society. In this paper, the teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) regarding the behavior of spouses with each other's relatives and their psychological effects have been described.
