The article highlights the significance of re-conceptualizing rhetorical agency as an endeavor of translingualism in the graduate writing classroom of Indonesia. It explores translingual agency that occurs both extra-textually and textually as writers negotiate power, identity and language in association with historical moments. A. Suresh Canagarajah's "Translingual Practice" suggests translingualism as a global norm.
