The article focuses on the use of corporate finance in the financial growth of McDonalds Corp. It states that McDonalds Corp. made money off of real estate and a formula developed by financial executive Harry J. Sonneborn. It mentions that Sonneborn developed the business plan of leasing real estate to its franchises. It states that Sonneborn proposed that McDonalds create a separate real estate company, Franchise Realty Corp., which would enter into 20-year improved leases with property owners and sublease the stores to franchise owners.
