- Abstract
The article presents information on a study which analyzes pesticides in spinach extract using mass spectral deconvolution technique. Deconvolution means extracting clean spectra from a complex mixture of overlapping GC peaks. The Agilent deconvolution reporting software (DRS) is used to identify traces of pesticides in a spinach extract. An advantage of deconvolution is to identify target compounds in complex martices quickly and accurately. Although this example is for trace level pesticide analysis in a complex matrix, it is possible to apply the DRS to other sample types (toxicology, environmental, homeland security etc.).
