- Abstract
The study aims to investigate the counseling self-efficacy and professional self-efficacy of the school psychologist working in special education programs in a number of variables, on a sample of 119 specialists, the results indicated the presence of a high to medium level, and at the level of the main dimensions were the highest dimension of "self-effectiveness management sessions", followed by the dimension of "self-efficacy in performing assistive skills", and the lowest degree was the dimension of "counseling challenges self-efficacy", and the results also found significant differences in the Counseling Self-Efficacy of psychologist to the variables of "qualification in special education", "the type of disabilities the psychologist deals with", while there were no statistically significant differences according to the remaining variables. On the other hand, there are significant differences in the professional self-efficacy of the psychologist in special education programs that can be attributed to some demographical variables: gender, educational qualification, qualification in special education and years of experience. The results also showed a positive correlation between the scores Counseling Self-Efficacy scale (the three axes and the total score) and the scores of the Professional Self Efficacy scale.
