- Abstract
The article provides an in-depth examination of the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act enacted in the U.S. in 2005 that provides immunity for manufacturers, distributors and providers in lawsuits involving pandemic countermeasures after a declaration of a public health emergency. Topics covered include the significance of PREP in both assessing litigation risk and defending any litigation that may be filed, and the scope of the PREP Act immunity.
