PRESENÇA DE MYCOBACTERIUM SPP. EM CÉLULAS MONOCÍTICAS-MACROFÁGICAS DE CÃO ADULTO - RELATO DE CASO.

- Abstract
As infecções micobacterianas são causadas por bactérias pertencentes a família Mycobacteriaceae e ordem Actinomycetales. Na espécie canina, esta infecção é incomum, sendo geralmente causada por M. tuberculosis ou M. bovis. Embora os cães possam ser infectados por outras micobactérias, eles são classificados como relativamente resistentes a estes organismos. As fotomicrografias são oriundas do esfregaço de citologia de medula óssea de um cão, com destaque para um macrófago com estruturas bacilares intracitoplasmáticas sugestivas de Mycobacterium spp. O cão, macho de 8 anos, apresentava pancitopenia de forma recorrente. No mielograma, ao longo da varredura do esfregaço na objetiva de 100x, verificou-se que a série megacariocítica estava diminuída, a série eritroide se apresentava normoplásica com anisocitose, maturação completa e ordenada. A linhagem granulocítica e monocítica-macrofágica estavam aumentadas, sendo a primeira por plasmócitos e pequenos linfócitos e a segunda, por macrófagos amplos, com citoplasma vacuolizado que apresentava, em sua maioria, estruturas bacilares intracitoplasmáticas sugestivas de Mycobacterium spp. A micobacteriose possui caráter oportunista, sendo muito comumente observada em animais imunossuprimidos com diagnóstico prévio de erliquiose cursando com pancitopenia, como é o caso deste cão. Ressalta-se a necessidade da Reação da Polimerase e Cadeia (PCR) para diferenciar as espécies de micobactérias, o que não foi possível nesse caso. Em suma, destaca-se a importância do exame citológico de medula óssea para investigação diagnóstica das pancitopenias em cães.
