- Abstract
The article discusses nutritional evolution of microbe Legionella pneumophila to intracellular life in vacuole within mammalian and unicellular eukaryotes host. Topics discussed include proliferation of the microbe in macrophages of both the hosts, utilization of amino acids as sources of energy and synchronization in amino acids auxotrophy between the microbe and host cell. It mentions transport of compounds like amino acids and lipids by solute carrier family of membrane proteins.
