- Title
Risk factors must be identified to detect small choroidal melanoma.
- Authors
Gagnon, Louise
- Abstract
This article reports on the need for clinicians to consider the presence of risk factors in managing patients who have choroidal nevi, according to physician Carol L. Shields. At the 2008 Sally Letson Symposium in Ottawa, Ontario, Shields emphasized the importance of a follow-up of at least once a year to evaluate for changes or transformation into melanoma. She also cited a study which showed that choroidal nevi has comparable clinical features regardless of age of presentation.
