- Title
Laser scanning system aids in the detection of glaucoma progression.
- Authors
Boyle, Erin L.
- Abstract
The article discusses the application of the laser scanning technology Heidelberg Retina Tomograph (HRT3) in the detection of glaucoma progression. Doctor Theodore Krupin said that this technology from Heidelberg Engineering enables physicians to track patents' glaucomatous progression correctly by measuring subtle changes in the optic nerve, cup and rim in combination with the standard method of taking optic nerve head stereophotographs and other methods of nerve fiber layer imaging. A comparison between HRT and stereophotographs is provided.
