- Abstract
The article presents information on the bedside physical therapy project at Christiana Care Health Services Inc. in Newark, Delaware which aimed to prevent deconditioning in hospitalized patients with cancer. Under the project, a physical or occupational therapist could complete an initial assessment of a patient within 48 hours of admission to the unit. The implications of the project for oncology nurses is explored.
