- Abstract
The article presents a study on the incidence of die-off of barred tiger salamander in a pond in the South Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. The study conducted a survey to know the amphibian use of the ponds in an agricultural zone of the Okanagan Valley. It states the die-off and the lack of recovery of the population of barred tiger salamanders have an implication on its survival. Furthermore, the study concludes that the lack of recovery of the salamander after die-off were due to the use of pesticides, the persistence of ranavirus, and the presence of predators.
