- Abstract
The article presents an examination into the career history of the 19th century British archaeologist Edmund Tyrell Artis, focusing on the paleobotanical contributions which he published between 1816 and 1821. Introductory details are given noting Artis' scholastic fame as an excavator of Roman cites in Northamptonshire, England. The publication and contents of his monograph "Antediluvian Phytology" are also examined.
