- Abstract
The article discusses research on the literary and philological aspects of the biblical Hebrew language, with a focus on terminology referring to leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, in rabbinical and biblical literature. Topics include archaeological research on the earliest physical DNA evidence of Hansen's disease; the Greek term lepra, which was used to refer to multiple chronic skin diseases; and the symptoms of leprosy and other skin diseases as described in biblical sources, along with the religious implications and social conditions for leprosy patients.
