- Abstract
The article presents information on the employment issues of the U.S. with reference to the U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act enacted by the U.S. Congress in 1938. A focus is on the exemptions to the overtime requirements and the disputes due to its expiry and the classification of salespeople as administrative employees. The role of the U.S. Department of Labor in proposing amendments and regulations are discussed along with the issues of its vagueness.
