- Abstract
The novel dimeric manganese-substituted polyoxotungstate Na[(α-B-ZnWO)WMn(HO)](OH)·34HO ( 1) has been designed and synthesized from the hydrothermal reaction of NaWO·2HO, MnCl·4HO, and ZnCl in a Teflon-lined stainless steel autoclave at 140°. X-ray diffraction analysis results reveal that compound ( 1) crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n, with a = 13.0901(3) Å, b = 17.8242(4) Å, c = 21.2401(5) Å, β = 93.6380(10)°, Z = 1, V = 4945.8(2) Å, F(000) = 5244, Dc = 3.974 g/cm, μ(Mo-Kα) = 2.4037 cm, λ(Mo-Kα) = 0.71073 Å. The structure was refined to R = 0.0631 and wR = 0.1532. The polyoxoanion of [(α-B-ZnWO)WMn(HO)] consist of two Keggin lacunary α-B-ZnWO moieties linked via a rhomblike WMnO group leading to a sandwich-type structure.
