- Title
BVA activities.
- Abstract
The article reports on the move by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to notify the British Veterinary Association (BVA) on the suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease in Surrey, England. BVA president David Catlow states that they have a regular contact with DEFRA concerning its response to the outbreak. They believe that due to its highly contagious nature, it is important to focus on the early detection of infected animals to prevent the spread of the disease.
