- Title
A Review of "The Creation of Scientific Psychology" by David J. Murray & Stephen W. Link.
- Authors
Wijsen, Lisa D.
- Abstract
Perhaps the goal of the book was to focus on a quantitative psychology that preceded what is usually considered the beginnings of psychology as a scientific discipline - a pre-Wundtian psychology - which I indeed consider to be one of the important contributions of this book. The history of psychology is relatively short compared to that of other scientific disciplines, but it has certainly been a lively one. I The Creation of Scientific Psychology i provides answers to many questions regarding the revolutionary field of psychophysics, it being the first attempt to turn psychology into a mathematics-based science.
