- Authors
Ortega, Julio
- Abstract
The article discusses the bicentennial of the independence of Latin America. It proposes that themes, approaches, and processes related to the bicentennial be coordinated. In particular, it emphasizes common themes in the histories of Latin America and Spain and proposes a dialogue between the two related to the bicentennial. The article suggests a number of themes to be celebrated during the bicentennial, including the constitutional tradition in popular liberalism, the idea of heterogeneity as modern, and the state based on the model of the school.
