- Abstract
The article discusses a need to acquire the uninhabited aerial systems (UAS), a multi-role airframe platform, by the Australian defense services. It states that a High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAS is most suitable for surveillance of Australian maritime areas. It focuses on the features of the HALE UAS systems and the Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) systems. It mentions the comments of various speakers at a seminar held in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory on July 3, 2013.
